About Pasefika Haven

We are proudly a Polynesian owned and operated aiga/whānau/family small business!

The experiences of Rex & Jay, along with the historical and cultural relationships between Aotearoa and the Pacific Islands, provided a seamless roadmap to establishing Pasefika Haven - quality products developed through the Polynesian lens!

As Polynesians ourselves, we know how important it is to feed into the economy of the Nations we are representing here. Therefore ensuring if we aren't creating the products ourselves, wherever possible, we source them directly from small businesses based in the Country itself, or from Polynesian-owned businesses if off-shore.

Rex & Jay operate Pasefika Haven from Tauranga, New Zealand with beautiful team members (our aiga!) based in the Islands, helping us make this all possible!

Louisa Toluono (aka Luh / Jessica) Pictured with Jay

Five L

Luh, Owner/operator of Samoan-based event hire establishment "Five L" and (comming soon to Apia) physical shopfront "Tava'e Samoa", is used to producing high-quality work within limited resource and time-sensitive environments, quickly establishing herself as a business who can make the impossible, possible! The current high-demand of Five-L services & buzz around Tava'e Samoa in Apia, speaks volumes to the quality and follow-through of her work! We are very lucky to have her join the team, getting things done on the ground in Samoa for the Pasefika Haven dream!

Reinhold Taulealo Hagedorn (aka Rex)

Rex

The friendly face of Pasefika Haven - is born and raised in the village of Tulaele, Samoa and has been living in New Zealand since 2012. Being of Samoan/German descent, Rex has naturally grown up with music a big part of his life! He holds qualifications in music, including Music Theory, with his 'weapons of choice' being guitar and piano/keyboard. This organically led to the creation of Rex's Musika, a community music workshop program around guitar lessons and music notation literacy. His workshop participants often commenting on his patient and welcoming personality, are a testament to Rex's ability to make your customer service experience at Pasefika Haven a magical one!

Jay Chase (aka Phreaze)
