Fetau Oil is a traditional remedy with a long history of use in the South Pacific. More commonly known as Tamanu or Dilo oil, it’s Greek name Calophylluyn means beautiful leaf.
Fetau Oil is a significant topical healing agent with skin healing, anti-neuralgic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.
The fetau nuts are collected when they naturally fall from the tree. They are gathered and laid out on rocks to dry for the next two months. During this process, the kernels turn and release a strong rich oil.
The oil is then extracted via cold-pressing and filtration. It takes a large number of nuts to produce just a small quantity of oil, making the potency of the oil amazing.
