Poi were traditionally used many years ago, by Aotearoa / New Zealand Māori to increase their flexibility and strength in hands and arms as well as improving coordination. Today they are mostly used in Kapa Haka (traditional Māori performances).
These contemporary hand-crafted (by our Mum!) display poi are made using a cotton material with Māori prints and a traditional 4-plait woven handle in varying styles! These make a great addition to any home decor, special gift for Māori living far from home, or visiting guests to Aotearoa!
Currently available in Mini, Small, Medium and Large sizes with various patterns.
